It's A New Day!
No matter how bad your problems are; the sun came up
this morning. No matter how bad things may get during the day; the sun
will come up tomorrow. War may break out this week, but the sun will
keep coming up. Hurricanes and tornadoes may devastate whole communities
and the sun will still come up and shed light on the disaster area.
If you lock your doors and close your drapes; the sun
will still be there waiting for you to come out of hiding. You may go
into deep depression and want to sleep for 48 hours, but that does not
make the sun go away. It will always be there for you every morning.
No matter how dark the night, the sun gets up and
says: Its a new day, lets try again. Maybe you are
plagued with repeated failures; so what? The sun comes up with repeated
consistency. If no one can count on you to do right, you can still count
on the sun to be there to give you a new start every day.
But, its not just the sun that brings the dawning
of a new day. God is even more faithful than some bright orb in the sky.
He invented such consistency. He originated new beginnings and fresh
starts. He is there for you every morning, also. And that makes a
difference.
Sure, you can deny He exists and shut Him out of your
thoughts but like the sun on the other side of the drapes He is
there, waiting for you to come out of your self-made cave. Even a
groundhog has to come back out into the sunshine eventually. No one can
hole up and hide from God forever.
You may curse the sun for melting your wax and hate
the sun for hardening your clay, but it will still smile on you another
day. You may hate hundred-degree weather and blame the sun for your heat
stroke, but it will never hold a grudge. It will come up and drive back
the extreme cold of those long, winter nights. Without the sun in winter
time, the whole world would be a frozen nightmare.
Yes, you can count on the sun to be there for you,
even when you get old. And it will always be there for your kids and
your grandkids, too. Sure, you can blame God for a lot of things, but
that only hurts you. When you get tired of hating, you will know that He
never stopped loving. He will be just as ready to forgive you tomorrow
as He is today. His love is consistent; its just that the
clouds of doubt sometimes get in the way. But, no overcast sky can last
forever. The wind of His grace will blow the heavy fog of discontent
from your heart and you will once again feel the warmth of His love in
your soul. The night of loneliness and pain may seem to go on forever
and ever, but take heart, the sunshine of Gods love will rise
again and take it all away. Keep hoping in Gods love and in the certainty
of His willingness to forgive.
