We only go ’round once!

We all face difficulties, problems, frustrations, disappointments, troubles, upsets, hindrances, obstacles, battle's, skirmishes, conflicts, hurts, pain, weakness, failure, insecurities, fears, doubts, depression, despair, hopelessness, emptiness, loneliness, discouragement, stress and distresses! (Just to mention a few negative elements of life).

Hey! What's the big deal? Life is life and we only have to do it once. It's not like we have to keep coming back and doing this thing over and over again. All we have to do is endure and persevere until it's over.

Nobody says we have to do this thing perfectly. No matter how tough the college exam is - it's dumb to walk out before you have finished the test. I've skipped questions on a test because they were taking up too much of my time. I've guessed at other questions, just so I could at least have a 'lottery type chance' of getting the right answer.

I've learned that it's better to keep moving and make a couple mistakes here and there than to keep worrying over one difficult problem during the whole time and then not finish. I've often come up with ten good answers to other questions in the time that I would have wasted on a problem that I couldn't solve anyway.

Why should we waste seven days beating ourselves over the head for one mistake when we could be doing a hundred right things during the same amount of time.

Let's move on. There are things to do, places to go and people to see. Crying over yesterday’s dead cat is not going to keep us from getting bitten by today's rabid dog. Besides, there are six more days lined up behind today. Resolve today's junk and let's go. We need to get ready for the new problems that are waiting to slap us in the face.

Two simple phrases have kept me going in the down times and they are:

“Nothing in this life lasts forever.”

And

“Praise God - we only have

to do it once.”

No, we don't have to do it perfectly. We don't have to be exceptional. We just have to keep going— and keep doing the best we can.

Tomorrow we may

even do better.

Let's make

the most of today!
